Lindsay Erickson (Big Lake, Minn.) has been named to the Daktronics All-American Third Team. Junior second baseman
Samantha Holien (Forest Lake, Minn.) received an Honorable Mention.
Erickson is the first MSU softball player to receive three Daktronics All-American awards, with her first two coming as a member of the Daktronics All-American Second Team during her freshman and sophomore seasons..
Erickson, who started in 50 games MSU this past season, led the Mavericks in several offensive categories including batting average (.455), hits (66), slugging percentage (.738) and on-base percentage (.540). Her nine home runs, 12 doubles and 41 RBI all ranked second on a Maverick squad that won both the NSIC regular season and tournament championships.
Erickson was also named to the NFCA All-American Second Team for the third straight season as well.
Holien started all 52 games for the Mavericks this past season, with 50 of the starts coming at second base. She finished the season leading MSU including runs scored (43), home runs (11) and RBI (47). For her efforts this past season, Holien earned NFCA and Daktronics All-Region honors and was named to the All-NSIC First Team.
Minnesota State finished its season with a 40-12 record.
