Minneapolis, Minn. --- The Minnesota State men’s swimming and diving team opened the 2010 Minnesota Challenge with a pair of top-10 finishes in the relays.
In the 400-yard medley relay, the team of freshman Kyle Hellyer, senior Brian Parks, sophomore Matt Chida and freshman Tom Gasnick was fourth with a time of 3:38.72. The Mavericks also turned in a 10th-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:29.64. That team was also made up of Hellyer, Parks, Chida and Gasnick.
Individually, MSU did not have and top-15 finishes.
The two-day long event concludes Saturday.
