Bessemer, Ala. — The tenth-rated Minnesota State women’s bowling team posted a 6-6 record and totalled 10,777 pins in finishing eighth at the 6th Annual Holiday Collegiate Bowling Classic held in Bessemer, Ala, over the weekend.
First-place Nebraska went 10-2 in capturing the title at the 16-team event.
Now, 49-32 on the year, MSU was led individually by senior Sara Cahill (Tinley Park, Ill.), who averaged 193.3 to finish 18th in the individual standings. Senior Cathleen Kowalski (Livonia, Mich.), who had a team single-game high of 257, averaged 181.7 and ranked 39th. Junior Lisa Hoover (Zion, Ill.) was 41st with a 181.1 mark Senior Kara Bischoff (St. Cloud, Minn.) was 44th with a 179.7 average. Junior Ashley Clinchoc (Chesterfield, Mich.) averaged 177.6 and ranked 50th. Freshman Kelsey Dunkle (Lincoln, Neb.) averaged 172.4 pins in placing 64th.
Next action for MSU is March 13-15th when the Mavericks participate Music City Classic in Smyrna, Tenn.
