Minnesota State Volleyballers #17 in Final AVCA Top 25 Poll

Lexington, Ky. - The Minnesota State volleyball team finished the 2009 season ranked #16 in the final American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top-25 poll. The Mavericks received a total of 285 points.

Other Northern Sun teams ranked in the top 25 are National Champions, #1 Concordia-St. Paul, #14 University of Minnesota Duluth #16, Southwest Minnesota State and #18 Wayne State.

Minnesota State, seeded fifth in the central region, was defeated by fourth seeded Wayne State in the first round of the NCAA Division II tournament, 3-2. The Mavericks ended the 2009 season with a 26-7 record, the twelfth 20 win season in school history.
