Four Mavericks Named to Academic All-Distrct Teams

 Mankato, Minn. --- The ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V women's soccer teams were announced with Minnesota State senior midfielder Gina Paletta, senior defender Abby Maxson, and junior forward Laura Leber all earning a spot on the first team, while junior forward Jessie Audas earned a spot on the second team.

To be eligible for the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District teams, student-athletes must maintain a 3.20 grade point average. The teams are voted on upon the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Members on the first team will now advance to the national ballot.

An Omaha, Nebraska, native Paletta owns a 3.85 gpa in exercise science. Paletta has recorded seven goals, eight assists, accumulating 22 points on the season. Throughout her career she has played in 75 matches earning 17 goals, 14 assists, accumulating 48 points. Paletta tallied a career high of two goals and two assists for six points in one match, Oct. 31 against MSU Moorhead.

Maxson, a Maple Grove, Minn. native, owns an impressive 4.0 gpa in sport management. Maxson has recorded three goals, one assist, accumulating seven  points on the season. Maxson tallied her first career goal, Sep. 26, against Concordia University. Throughout her career she has played in 61 matches earning three goals, three assists, accumulating nine points.

A Council Bluffs, Iowa native, Leber owns a 3.98 gpa in recreation, parks, and leisure services. Leber has tallied 10 goals, two assists, accumulating 22 points on the season with her second career hat trick on Aug. 28 against Ferris State. Throughout her career, Leber has played in 59 matches earning 33 goals, nine assists, accumulating 75 points.

Audas, an Omaha, Neb. native, owns a 3.92 gpa in psychology. Audas has recorded two goals, two assists, accumulating six points on the season. On Aug. 28, Audas scored a goal and an assist against Ferris State. Throughout her career, Audas has played in 59 matches earning seven goals, 13 assists, accumulating 27 points.

MSU completes the regular season portion of its schedule Sunday against Minnesota Crookston at 1 p.m. in Crookston Minnesota.
