Two-time NAIA national champion in outdoor 800m (1958 and 1960)...Finished fourth at national AAU meet in 800m in 1960...Qualified and participated in 1960 U.S. Olympic Trials...Established world record in 300m in 1965...Established U.S. 100-yd. record in 1966...Still owns MSU 800m record (1:49.0, 1960 the oldest one in the track books at MSU)...Ranked fourth on MSU's Male Athletes of the Century list.
