Lettered in football at MSU for four years...Started in four positions including tight end, defensive end, nose tackle and middle linebacker under head coach Bob Otto...Was an All-Conference selection in 1967 and 1968...Co-captain of football team in 1968...Received Bachelor's Degree in Business with a coaching certificate in 1969...Worked on Master's Degree in Physical Education at MSU and was graduate assistant for football in 1972-73...During graduate work he coached the defensive line, was the defensive scout and talent recruiter...Was instrumental in the implementation of the first computerized scouting system for opposing teams at MSU.
