NCAA All-American when he finished third in 110m high hurdles in 1956 with a time of 13.6...Qualified for and participated in 1956 U.S. Olympic Trials where he finished fourth behind the eventual Olympic gold (Lee Calhoun), silver (Rafer Johnson) and bronze meadalists (Milt Campbell)...Earned four letters in track and one each in football and basketball during MSU career...Established school 120-yd. high hurdle record in 1956 with 13.9 clocking...Named outstanding Athlete in Mankato his junior and senior seasons...Ranked ninth on MSU's Male Athletes of the Century list.
