Four-year letterwinner in football where he played middle linebacker from 1964-67...The six-foot, 225-pounder averaged nearly 15 tackles per game-more than 70 percent of team's total...MSU team captain and Most Valuable Player selection in 1966 and 1967...All-Conference also in '66 and '67...!967 Northern Intercollegiate Conference Most Valuable Player...Little All-American in 1967...MSU Athlete of the Year in 1967...Signed a contract to play football for the Minnesota Vikings, but was unable to report to camp because of a neck injury...Voted Snow Week King in 1968...Graduated that same year with a degree in Health Education as well as minors in both Mathematics and Biology.
