A four-year college athletic career consisted of playing point guard for the basketball team and second base for the baseball team...Holds MSU basketball record for assists in a game (16, 1976), season (221, 1977), and career (772)...Set North Central Conference single-season assists record in 1976 with 9.6 per game...Led MSU in free throw percentage in 1976 (.773)...Played on MSU's NCC basketball championship team in 1976...Led baseball team in steals with 32 in 1978...Held MSU career stolen base record (81)...Was All-NIC in baseball (1979)...Named MSU Athlete of the Year in 1978...Played professional baseball with the Montreal Expos organization for 11 years...Graduated from MSU with a B.S. Degree in Physical Education....Coached basketball at Loyola High School of Mankato...Served on major league coaching staffs with the Montreal Expos, Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants and Colorado Rockies and served as scout for Tampa Bay before joining Minnesota Twins organization as field manager of Rochester (Twins AAA affiliate) in 2011.
