Mankato, Minn. --- With the conference championships complete, eight members of the Minnesota State women'strack and field program will shift their attention towards the national championships next week.
Sophomore
Afure Adah will compete in her first outdoor championship after participating in the indoor national championship twice in her Maverick career. She will compete in the 100m dash where her time of 11.67 is the twelfth best time in DII and she will also compete as a member of the 4x100 relay team that holds the seventh best time in DII of 45.76.
Junior
Karlona Gregory will be attending her first outdoor national championship as a member of the 4x100m relay team.
Sophomore
Khadiya Hollingsworth will compete in her second consecutive NCAA DII Outdoor TF championship after earning All-American honors last season. Her school record mark of 5'9.25" is the fifth best leap in DII this season.
Senior
Haley Kruger will compete in her second outdoor championship in the 800m run. Her time of 2:09.35 is the 25th best in DII this season.
Junior
Brieanna Puckett will compete in her first outdoor championship in two events. She is a member of the 4x100 relay team as well as competing in the long jump where her leap of 19'6.75" is the 21st best jump in DII.
Senior
Altoniece Williams will compete in her second consecutive outdoor track and field championship after earning All-American honors last year in the 100m hurdles. Her time of 13.64 currently ranks as the eighth best time in DII this season.
Senior
Faryn Wirkus will attend her second consecutive outdoor national championship in the pole vault. Her leap of 12'9.5" is the thirteenth best mark in DII.
Senior
Brooke Foreman was originally the final member of the 4x100m relay team that qualified for nationals, but an injury will force her to miss the competition. In her place sophomore
Autumn Santos will compete with the team,
The Mavericks will be sending these athletes to Bradenton, Florida for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championship May 25th through may 27th.
