Maryville, MO.--- The Minnesota State women's track and field team took first place with a final score of 179.83 points in the MIAA Vs. NSIC Showdown hosted by the Northwest Missouri State University starting Thursday and ending Saturday.
In the 4x100-meter relay the team of
Brooke Foreman,
Brieanna Puckett,
Afure Adah, and
Karlona Gregory finished first with a provisional qualifying time of 45.76 which is the top mark in DII this season. In the 4x400-meter relay the team of
Amelia Kjos,
Kimmy Wreh,
Taylor Naatz, and
Taylor Glover finished second with a time of 3:52.06.
Adah (11.74) finished first in the 100-meter dash and
Altoniece Williams (12.06) finished second while
Sydney Reysack (12.45) finished eighth.
Gregory finished first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.21. In the 400-meter dash
Crystal Malone (57.34) finished third,
Kjos (57.40) finished fourth, and
Wreh (58.08) finished seventh. In the 800-meter run
Haley Kruger finished first with a time of 2:13.49 and
Maddi Sjelin finished fourth with a time of 2:18.53.
Kruger finished first in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:48.06 and
Carisa Weyenberg finished eighth with a time of 4:59.72.

Williams took first place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.64 and
Brooke Foreman finished second with a time of 13.95, both times were provisional qualifiers.
Carolyn Hackel also finished fifth with a time of 14.39. In the 400-meter hurdle
Taylor Glover (1:03.30) finished third and
Sophia Simonson (1:04.05) finished fifth.
Hackel finished third in the heptathlon with a score of 4413 and
Sola Stephenson finished seventh with 3955.
In the discus throw
Emma Edelen finished seventh with a top throw of 134'10".
Sarah Knutson finished seventh in the hammer throw with a top throw of 157'6". In the javelin throw
Kaitlyn Smith finished fourth with a throw of 121'1".
Rachel Schumacher finished first in the triple jump with a leap of 36'10.25". In the pole vault
Faryn Wirkus finished first with a provisional qualifying jump of 11'10" and
Erin Neveau finished eighth with a clear of 10'10.25".
Brieanna Puckett earned third place in the long jump with a leap of 18'7.25". In the high jump
Khadiya Hollingsworth took first place with a provisional qualifying jump of 5'7", also
Schumacher (5'3") and
Brianna Ziolkowski (5'3") finished third and sixth respectively based on earlier round misses.
Minnesota State will continue next Thursday in California to compete in the Cal State LA Twilight and will compete Friday in the MT. Sac Invite, also held in California.
