Michael Sandle (Eden Prairie, Minn.) was named
NSIC Field Athlete of the Week for their success this weekend at the Chuck Petersen Open this past weekend.

U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches
Association Division II National Athlete of the Week on Monday. On Saturday, Hunter broke a ten year old school record at the Chuck Petersen Open setting the new mark at 7.76. In that effort, Hunter has already met the automatic qualifying standard. His mark is not only the best time in the NSIC, but also across all divisions nationally and is also the eighth fastest time in Division II history.
Sandle saw similar success this past weekend in the triple jump. His mark of 49'11.25" not only won the meet, but met the provisional qualifying standard for the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships. His performance also stands as the longest jump in Division II this season.
The Mavericks are currently on an extended break and will return to action on January 10 at the MSU Alumni Open.
