Mankato, Minn. --- Minnesota State interim Head Coach
Aaron Keen has announced the signings of 17 prep athletes to National Letters of Intent to join the Maverick football team this upcoming season. Additionally, three student-athletes will join the Maverick football squad as walk-ons.
All signings are contingent upon admission to MSU and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Clearinghouse.
This year’s signing class will feature 11 student-athletes from Wisconsin, five from Illinois and four from Minnesota.
“I am very proud of the efforts of our coaching staff in recruiting this special group of student-athletes to Minnesota State University, Mankato,” said Keen. “Though we had limited scholarships to work with, we were able to maximize the financial resources we had at our disposal to add 20 players to our program. More than numbers, I am pleased with the quality of this class. We are very impressed with the character and ability of these young men and our coaches cannot wait to get these players on campus and to work with them.”
Minnesota State finished its 2012 campaign with a 13-1 record and advanced to the NCAA Semi-Finals.
