Sophomore right-handed pitcher Bryce Bellin leads MSU with 21 strikeouts

Minnesota State Falls to No. 22 in Latest Top-25 Rankings

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Minnesota State fell to No. 22 in the latest National College Baseball Writers Association Top-25 Poll which was announced Tuesday afternoon.

The Mavericks were idle last week after wrapping up their annual trip to Florida over spring break where they proceeded to go 4-2.

Junior Lucas Skjefte is fourth in the nation with 0.25 triples per game while he also ranks 47th with 1.17 runs per game.  Senior Pat Dockendorf is 16th in the nation with 1.33 runs per game and 26th with 0.17 triples per game while sophomore Todd Standish ranks 12th with 0.36 sacrifice bunts per game.  Senior Harvey Martin ranks 27th in the nation with four wins.

Central Missouri, with 13 first-place votes, is the new No. 1 team in the nation after accumulating 325 points as they sit 16-1 overall.  Joining MSU from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference in the top-25 poll is No. 8 St. Cloud State who fell five spots from last week while totalling 218 points.

The Mavericks are also featured in two other polls as MSU ranks 19th in the Collegiate Baseball News Top-30 Poll while ranking 13th in the College Baseball Lineup DII Baseball Top-30 Rankings.

MSU is back in action Saturday, March 24 when it plays its first home game of the season with a doubleheader against Minnesota Duluth.  Action is slated to begin at noon at the MSU Baseball Complex.

Central Region Ranking: MSU is ranked third in the central region top 10.  St. Cloud State sits atop the central region rankings with seven first-place votes, followed by New Mexico Highlands in second.
