Mankato, Minn. --- Minnesota State freshman forward Teddy Blueger has received an invitation to participate in Latvia's pre-tournament camp in preparation for the 2013 World Junior Championship.
Blueger, a Riga, Latvia, native, was a member of the Latvian entry at the 2012 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship held in Calgary and Edmonton where he compiled 1-2--3 in six games. This year's tournament takes place Dec. 26-Jan. 5 in Ufa, Russia.
The International Ice Hockey Federation issued a press release Dec. 4 with information on some of the pre-tournament camps held by participating teams (including Latvia) and that is located HERE.
As a first-year forward with Minnesota State, Blueger has contributed two goals and six assists for eight points while playing in all 14 games to date. He is also +2 while putting 20 shots on goal. He was selected in the second round (52nd overall) by Pittsburgh in the 2012 National Hockey League Draft.
