Mankato, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics hosted the
25th Annual Maverick Achievement Awards and Senior Honors Dinner Sunday and 41 student-athletes were honored as Maverick Achievement Award recipients.
Since 1986 the
Maverick Achievement Awards program, which is sponsored by Federated Insurance, has sought to recognize true student-athletes at Minnesota State. Requirements for the award stipulate that recipients be seniors, letterwinners and have a grade point average of 3.00 or better entering their senior year of competition. A total of 823 student-athletes have been honored as Maverick Achievement Award recipients since the program’s inception.
