Minnesota State senior defenseman Channing Boe has signed with Wheeling of the East Coast Hockey League

Boe and Galiardi Embark Upon Pro Careers

Mankato, Minn. --- A pair of Minnesota State men's hockey players have started their professonal careers following the conclusion of their senior seasons with the Mavericks.

Forward Rylan Galiardi, MSU’s captain for 2010-11, has signed an amateur try-out offer with San Antonio of the American Hockey League. Galiardi completed his four-year Minnesota State career with 29-52--81 in 140 games. His 81 career points ties him with Peter Holoein (22-59--81 in 144 GP from 1998-2001-05) for 17th overall on MSU’s career scoring list for the NCAA Division I era. A native of Calgary, Alta., Galiardi finished sixth on MSU's scoring charts in 20010-11 with 7-12--19 in 32 games. He tied for the team lead with four power play goal and he had one game-winning goal. He was MSU's top face-off performer on the season with a .565 mark (296 of 524). Galiardi is a three-time WCHA All-Academic honoree.

Defenseman Channing Boe, a two-time alternate captain who had five goals and five assists for ten points in 38 games with the Mavericks this year, has signed a professional contract with Wheeling of the East Coast Hockey League. The Bemidji, Minn., native completed his four-year MSU career with 8-17--25 in 131 career games, Boe, who played in 77 consecutive games played in finishing out his career with the Minnesota State, tied for the team in plus-minus this year with a +9 mark. Boe is a three-time WCHA All-Academic honoree.
