St. Cloud, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women’s track and field team saw three student-athletes participate in the pentathlon portion of the 2011 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference championships Sunday afternoon in St. Cloud.
Junior Megan Olson finished fourth with a total of 3110 points. Olson received 877 points in the 60-meter hurdles (9.11), 671 points in the long jump (5.40m), 514 points in the shot put (9.77m), 534 points in the high jump (1.42m), and 504 points in the 800-meter dash (2:46.17).
Freshman Moriah Miller was eighth with 2951 points. Miller recorded 718 points in the 60-meter hurdles (9.97), 433 points in the long jump (4.52m), 537 points in the shot put (10.11m), 701 points in the high jump (1.57m), and 562 points in the 800-meter dash (2:40.98).
Sophomore Christina Erickson rounded out the Mavericks with a ninth-place finish with 2917 points. Erickson earned 791 points in the 60-meter hurdles (9.59), 634 points in the long jump (5.27m), 525 points in the shot put (9.93m), 599 points in the high jump (1.48m), and 562 points in the 800-meter dash (2:59.69).
The Mavericks travel to the Parent’s Day Open this weekend hosted by the University of Minnesota.
