On Tap:    Minnesota State (10-11-5 overall, 4-11-3 WCHA) continues conference action with a pair of road games at St. Cloud State (11-11-2 overall, 7-8-1 WCHA) this weekend.  The Mavericks and the Huskies square-off at SCSU’s National Hockey Center (5,371) in St. Cloud, Minn., Friday (7:07 p.m.) and Saturday (7:07 p.m.).

About the Series:  In a series that dates back to the1969-70 season, MSU’s all-time record in the series with the Huskies is 59-44-9. MSU’s oldest and most-often played opponent, the Mavericks are 13-9-3 vs. SCSU in the last 25 games.

Most Recently:   Now 10-11-5 overall after dropping a pair of one-goal games at ninth-rated Wisconsin last weekend, the Mavericks stand 8-5-1 in their last 14 contests.

The Mavericks got a goal and assist from junior forward Mike Louwerse and a 3-2 loss to the Badgers Friday.  MSU held a 1-0 lead after the first period of play in the game before the Badgers scored three times in the second. Senior forward Andrew Sackrison added a third-period goal.  Junior forward Joe Schiller was the lone Maverick to find the back of the net in Saturday’s 2-1 loss.

About St. Cloud State:  The Huskies, who enter this weekend’s series having won their last six games, swept a WCHA road series last weekend at #Bemidji State (2-1 overtime win, 5-1 win) in their most-recent action.  SCSU is led offensively by junior forward Drew LeBlanc (8-21--29 in 24 GP) and senior forward Garrett Roe (5-17--22 in 24 GP). Sophomore Mike Lee (9-7-1, 2.67, .907) has started 16 of 24 games in the SCSU nets.  

Head coach Bob Motzko (St. Cloud State ‘87) is in his fifth year as  head coach of the Badgers and has amassed a 92-71-21 record.
