St. Peter, Minn. - The Minnesota State women’s tennis team dominated Martin Luther Saturday afternoon, 9-0, at the Gustavus Tennis Center on the campus of Gustavus Adolphus College.
Martin Luther won just nine games in the loss.
Minnesota State opened doubles play with a pair of 8-0 victories at the #2 and #3 slots behind solid play. Junior Sarah Madigan and freshman Kathryn Gavin closed out the doubles sweep with an 8-1 victory at the #1 position
In singles action, sophomore Tegan Bakke won 6-0, 6-0 at the #5 slot while sophomore Carly Hiedeman secured the fifth Maverick victory of the day with a 6-2, 6-0 win at the #6 position.
Senior Cassandra Anderson earned a 6-4, 6-0 win at the #3 spot while freshman Brandi Dohmen won 6-0, 6-0 at the #3 position. Senior Paige Burke earned a 6-0, 6-0 at the #2 slot while Gavin closed out the victory with a 6-0, 6-2 win at the top-singles flight.
Minnesota State (2-0) hosts Minnesota Duluth Sunday morning at 9 a.m., at the Gustavus Tennis Center.
