Minneapolis, Minn.— The Minnesota State men’s swimming and diving team qualified its 400-yard freestyle relay for this year’s national championship Sunday afternoon at a Last Chance Meet hosted by the University of Minnesota.
The relay squad turned in a time of 3:04.95, besting the “A” standard by four one-hundredths of a second and giving MSU the automatic bid. The relay team was made up of freshman Tom Gasnick, sophomore Matt Chida, junior Chris Gogel and sophomore Daniel Wright.
Minnesota State will find out which provisional times made the NCAA Championships this week. The championships take place March 17-20 in Dayton, Ohio.
